Itinerary

Day 1

Fly from London Heathrow terminal 2 to Palermo. On arrival, transfer to an hotel in Palermo Anthony and Zarina stayed at an Hotel in Mondello This enabled them to enjoy the beach whilst being at a convenient distance from Palermo City Centre.

Day 2

Full day in Palermo.

Morning

Visit Palazzo of the Normans and the Palatine Chapel. I also recommend the nearby Cathedral with its treasury.

Afternoon

Visit to the Capuchin catacombs archaeological museum, the art gallery (Galleria regionale di Sicilia) and the oratory of San Lorenzo with a painting by Caravaggio.

Day 3

Full day in Palermo

Morning Recommended visit to Monreale

You may want to stay all day here

Afternoon We also recommend a visit to Cefalu so that you complete your visit to the great mosaic sites of Sicily. However it is some distance along the coast

Day 4

Pick up hire car in central Palermo

Drive from Palermo to Agrigento via the Magna Grecia sites at Segesta and Selinunte.

Overnight Agrigento Hotel Baglio della Luna.

Day 5

Full day in Agrigento

Visiting the temples.

Overnight Agrigento Hotel Baglio della Luna.

Day 6

Return to Palermo to catch an afternoon flight back to the UK.
